HE Sheikh Dr. Khalid bin Jabor al Thani, Chairman of Qatar Cancer Society, said that National Day celebrations provide an opportunity for Qatar’s citizens and residents to feela sense belonging and loyalty, andemphasise the importance of pride and dignity.
He stressed QCS’s keenness to launch awareness and educational campaigns throughout the year, especially during National Daycelebrations, in order to raise community awareness about cancer with special activities at Darb Al saai.
“Since it launched in 1997, QCS has never overlooked its basic objectives of providing treatment for cancer patients who are unable to afford medical expenses;thisamounted to 400 patients in 2016. The society took care of the patients after conversations with hospitals and medical centres concerned with their identity and documents. Thank God there is no single patient on the waiting list right now,” he said.
